Certificate & Pin Shipping Policy

We use a service to print and ship membership materials. Because of this, your chapter’s Local Dues reimbursement checks (if applicable) will not be included in the package but will be sent via USPS mail separately, unless you have arranged for a direct deposit/wire transfer to the chapter’s bank account (ACH). Email christine@nationalald.org to receive information about setting up the ACH deposit.

All packages, including reprints, follow this policy:

Three Dates of an Invitation Group:
Close Date = The last day to join and have the member certificate available for distribution at an in-person induction ceremony or by a date determined by the advisor
Induction Date = The date the induction ceremony is held
Expiration Date = The deadline to accept the invitation to join ALD

  • Certificates are shipped to arrive for your induction ceremony for all members that join by the Close Date. This package ships at no charge.

  • Anyone joining after the Close Date is considered to be a Late Joiner, even if they join before the Induction Date. The Member is advised of this when they join and that their certificate may not be available right away.

  • All Late Joiner’s certificates will be held and shipped after the Expiration Date. This package ships at no charge.

There is a charge to ship any interim packages. Late Joiner certificates processed between the close date and the expiration date will be an extra shipment, and only by your request. The rate will depend upon distance and package weight. If you need an additional shipment, we can estimate the shipping costs. Please contact christine@nationalald.org.

Note: We try to email you one week before the close date to remind you the package is coming and you now have less than seven days to make any last-minute changes or additions regarding honorary certificates or pin counts. We plan to ship so the initial induction package will arrive at least two days before your ceremony. The tracking information is emailed as soon as it is available. Because we ship many packages every week, you are responsible for tracking the package to be sure it will arrive in time for your chapter’s ceremony. Please alert us if you receive an “exception” email from the shipping company (check your spam folder) saying the package has been delayed as we do not receive these emails. Also, please open the package and check its contents immediately. Any issues reported after the induction date may incur a reshipping charge.
