Project Coordinator

Position Summary

The Project Coordinator plays a central role in advancing the mission of Alpha Lambda Delta by coordinating projects, streamlining processes, and supporting cross-functional initiatives. This position ensures the smooth execution of day-to-day operations while also contributing to longer-term organizational goals.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Project Coordinator collaborates with the Director of Operations, Director of Communications and Chapter Engagement, and other staff to manage timelines, track deliverables, support membership and collegiate chapters, and facilitate effective communication across the organization. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This is a 100% remote position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the first point of contact, delivering responsive and professional support via phone and email.

  • Coordinate cross-departmental projects and initiatives, ensuring work is completed accurately and on schedule.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across organizational systems.

  • Develop and maintain virtual filing systems and resources to support team efficiency.

  • Assist with managing membership and scholarship application software.

  • Partner with staff to design and implement process improvements that streamline operations.

  • Lead and/or contribute to special projects by managing timelines, preparing documents, reports, and presentations, coordinating stakeholders, and tracking progress.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and two or more years of experience in project coordination, program management, or a related role; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines effectively

  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace; ability to learn and adapt to new software platforms quickly

  • Demonstrated experience maintaining accurate data and records to support project tracking and reporting

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with diverse stakeholders

  • Proven ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and ability to handle sensitive or confidential information appropriately

  • Experience in higher education or nonprofit organizations

  • Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise administrative functions in an independent and effective manner

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • The salary for this position is $47,000.

  • Benefits include 7.5% employer contribution to a retirement plan, 100% of the employee's premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance plus full funding of individual HSA. Salary can be adjusted if insurance is declined due to spousal coverage.

  • Generous vacation and sick leave: 10 holidays, 3 personal days, 15 vacation days, and 12 sick days per year.

  • This is a remote position. Candidates must be based in and legally authorized to work in the United States. Preference for candidates located within the Eastern or Central Standard Time zone.

  • Candidates must have appropriate private space in the home, with sufficient internet to support online work. Computer and other office equipment will be provided.

  • ALD Headquarters operates between 8:30am-4:30pm EST. Occasional nights and weekends for special events (comp time available).

  • Exempt (not eligible for overtime).

  • ALD is a PSLF-qualified employer.
