Eligibility For the 2026 Graduate Fellowships

Any inducted member of Alpha Lambda Delta who has maintained a 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative grade point average through graduation is eligible to apply. Members graduating this year may apply if they have achieved this average at the end of the first semester (or first quarter) of the current year. In determining the average of eligibility, the decimal point must be a .5 or above, not a .49 or any other average less than a .5. Selection will be based on academic records, references submitted, essay questions, and campus and community activities.

Application Procedure & Tips

  • Take your time to develop thoughtful and thorough responses in advance by using the practice application Word document (available in the early fall) prior to completing the application online. Be sure your responses are confined to the space allotted on the application.

  • We recommend you reach out to an advisor or mentor once you have completed the practice application to review your responses and provide any feedback prior to completing the online application.

  • Let your ALD Chapter Advisor know that you plan to apply for an ALD scholarship; they may have additional insight or recommendations for completing your application.

  • Prepare the supplemental materials. Each application must be accompanied by:

    • Complete transcripts from each college/university attended;

    • Two letters of reference (to be uploaded by the recommender), with at least one being from a faculty member or instructor of record. Letters of reference need to be uploaded to ALD’s application portal by the deadline. The application will ask you for their name and email address, which then generates an email to them with a link to upload.

      • It is your responsibility to follow up with the person you’ve requested a reference from to ensure they complete it in time. Your application will be disqualified if both reference letters are not submitted by the deadline. Reference letters cannot be submitted until you have completed and submitted your portion of the application.

      • We highly encourage applicants to reach out to their preferred references well in advance to confirm their ability to write and submit a reference letter on your behalf.

      • You can log into your application after submitting it to see the status of your reference requests and send reminder emails.

  • Complete the online application, making sure to answer each applicable question completely.

  • Applications cannot be saved and returned to; they must be completed in one sitting and cannot be edited once submitted.

  • Follow up with your references once you’ve submitted the online application to ensure they received the system email notification requesting that they upload the letter of reference.

  • Confirm all references have submitted their letter prior to the deadline. You can view your application page to check on the status and send reminder notifications. Applications without the required references by the deadline will be disqualified.
