Dear (Name):

Since 1924, Alpha Lambda Delta Scholastic Honor Society has been recognizing academic excellence among first year students in higher education. During those 80 years, Alpha Lambda Delta has initiated more than 700,000 students and awarded almost a million dollars in graduate fellowships. Alpha Lambda Delta could not exist without the cooperation and work of the local chapter adviser.

At (name of your institution), the Alpha Lambda Delta chapter is advised by (your name). Without the help of the chapter adviser, the recognition of academic excellence among first year students by a national honor society would not occur.

Research has documented that the close relationship that an adviser has with students is an important factor in student success and retention. The work and influence of the chapter adviser are very important for the student, the institution, and Alpha Lambda Delta. The National Council of Alpha Lambda Delta appreciates the work of (your name) who has served as chapter adviser for (# years as adviser) years and wanted to share our appreciation and admiration with you.

Thank you for your support and encouragement of (your name) and of academic excellence.

Sincerely,

Glenda Earwood
Executive Director
